The Arena has been stopped. What's next?
On Wednesday, March 27, Monumental Sports and Entertainment announced they would remain in Washington, DC and all parties acknowledged that the effort to bring the Wizards and Capitals to Potomac Yard was over.
I've been asked if the campaign, too, is over? My answer: Our campaign was never just about one bad deal. It was about addressing the underlying issues that lead to the proposal. Namely, trust and revenue. We are here because the project wasn't properly vetted, transparent and built on trust. However, we all want to be able to fund the future of Alexandria.
Trust, transparency and revenue. We need more of all of these in Alexandria, and I'm running to bring more to our city.

UNITE ALX is my plan for Alexandria.
Alexandrians want the same things -- communities that thrive and to believe the future will be better than today. The UNITE ALX plan is a way for Alexandria move beyond the battles of the past and work for the things we need -- affordable housing, small business success and to build an economy that works for everyone.
